    2009 EXCITING NEW TRIPS

    Next year sees the launch of a new exciting range of our guided tours in Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.  With a new tour for every month of the year, there is plenty to choose from!  Try Spanish & the Sea, an 8 day learning/walking trip based in a Basque fishing village, or Dance and Discover in the Dominican Republic, a 2 week holiday trip with a week of dance lessons and nights out in Santo Domingo with the next week on the road to explore the island and its beaches.  Or a Taste of Tuscany, Italian lessons with visits to local producers of cheese, wine, olives and salamis (with tasting sessions too, of course!).  Spanish & Tango in Buenos Aires in November, Hiking in Brazil in April and much more… click here for more details.

    ATOL: SAFE IN OUR HANDS  atol_6387

    You may be asking yourself how sure you can be that your money and trip is safe in our hands?  Caledonia Languages Abroad has been trading for 12 years and is financially steady.  We have grown slowly and surely over the years, and are careful about where we take you, who our overseas partners are and how we operate. 

    When you book a trip with us, both your holiday and your money are fully protected under our ATOL licence which covers your 'air package holiday'.  This term means arrangements which we have made for you which include a flight and ground services (e.g. accommodation, language course, activities, excursions).  If you book a flight only with us, you are also covered for failure of the airline. 
    If you opt to book your own flights, you should either ensure that the agent has an ATOL licence or, if booking direct with the airline, pay by credit card or take out SAFI (Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance) to protect your money.

    If you have booked your flights elsewhere but book your accommodation, language course or other tuition and other ground services with us, these are not covered by our ATOL licence. However, if our overseas partner fails before you start your trip, we will find you an alternative at the same price.  You may also want to take out insurance to cover you if you have to cancel your trip.

    Spanish in Valencia

    NEW LOCATION for SPANISH – VALENCIA

    We are delighted to include Valencia as the latest new destination for Spanish courses, both for adult individuals, teenagers and school group trips.  The school is right in the heart of the city and offers a free cultural activity programme all year round.  The life of the city spreads down to the seafront where there is a harbour area and two extensive city beaches.  The futuristic face of the city is reflected in Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciencies, where the largest aquarium in Europe is found along with a fabulous science museum and IMAX cinema complex.     EXAM REVISION for FEB HALF TERM

    Intensive one week French exam revision courses are available in Bordeaux from 09 – 13 Feb or 16-20 Feb 2009. The cost for 24 group lessons per week with homestay accommodation, half board, single room is £565.  Limited places available.

    CUBAN SALSA CONGRESS, 28 - 30 Nov 2008

    For three days in late November we will be attending the third International Cuban Salsa Congress. Held in a beautiful castle in North Wales, this event is a must for anyone interested in Cuban Salsa.  The line-up includes a world-class team of dancers, teachers and performers, and workshops for all levels. Further information on the location, accommodation and workshops from http://www.havananights.co.uk/.  Please let us know if you are attending.     CALEDONIA MAGAZINE

    As well as dates and prices for 2009, we are currently working on the next edition of our magazine which will give a taste of what we have to offer. Going to print in early November, this edition will include news and special features such as details of New Locations in France and Spain; New Group Trips for 2009; Tailor Made Music and Dance Trips to Cuba; Study Trips for School Pupils and Teachers; Gap and Career Break Options such as Work Experience and Volunteer Work; and a selection of prices for the schools we work with abroad.     SCHOOL STUDY TRIPS 2009

    If you are a teacher and are considering a trip overseas with your pupils, contact us a call to discuss your plans and ask us for a draft programme with costings.

    School study trips can include language tuition or may be a combined trip with another department such as Geography/Music/History trip. Sample programmes are on our website.
