Group dance holidays in Cuba
We have been running our two-week dance holidays in Santiago de Cuba since 1999. The trips provide a heady cocktail of dance classes; nights out with our Cuban dance partners to live music venues; cultural excursions and visits and plenty of time to just chill out and soak up the Cuban atmosphere. Our dance teachers are all professional dancers from one of Cuba's top national dance companies, Ballet Folklorico Cutumba. A unique feature of our holidays is that everyone has his/her own partner/teacher for every lesson throughout the two weeks. Twice a year we also include an optional 3 day trekking trip to the Pico Turquino National Park in the Sierra Maestra mountains.
Our annual Cuban Music School in Havana, Cuba
Every February since 2001 we have managed a residential Cuban Music School based in the heart of Old Havana. The school is based in a former convent just 2 streets away from Plaza Vieja and within easy walking distance of the other main squares in the historic centre of the city. The course offers a unique opportunity for musicians and singers to spend their days learning and rehearsing with professional Cuban musicians and tutors, with evenings dedicated to visiting live music venues in Havana. The final day concert sees every student on the course playing alongside their Cuban tutors and other local musicians, and it is not unusual for some famous Cuban artistes to come along and join in! Musicians and singers of all ages and levels of ability are welcome.
