Wednesday
Depart London Gatwick on direct flight to Holguin. Met on arrival and private transfer to 3* hotel in Santiago de Cuba. Double room, B&B x 4 nights.
Thursday
Guided city tour of Santiago with visit to Jose Marti memorial, San Juan Hill, the Moncada Barracks where Fidel and his followers first tried to overthrow the Batista regime and late afternoon visit to El Morro castle to watch the sunset. Evening free
Friday
Optional 2 hour salsa lesson with professional dancers (£20pp). Rest of day free to explore Santiago and relax and listen to live traditional Cuban music in the Casa de la Trova
Saturday
Free day to explore Santiago at leisure.
Sunday
Early morning departure from Santiago to Baracoa by public coach (5 hours) and check into 3* Hotel El Castillo or equivalent in the town centre. Double room, B&B x 4 nights.
Mon/Tues/Wed
Free days to explore the area or for local trekking in the Alexander Humboldt national park, to climb El Yunque or take a cayuka trip down the Toa River.
Thursday
Private transfer to 3* Villa Maguana on secluded beach north of Baracoa. Bungalow, double room, half board x 3 nights.
Fri/Sat
Free time to relax on the beach, swim and snorkel
Sunday
Check in at Baracoa airport for afternoon flight to Havana. Arrive Havana late afternoon and private transfer to 4* Hostal Raquel in Old Havana. Double room, B&B x 2 nights.
Monday
Optional morning walking tour of Old Havana (approx 2 hours) with bilingual guide (£10 pp). Afternoon visit to Museum of Modern Art or gallery, explore the city or shopping in the local crafts market. Evening free.
Day 14
Private transfer to airport early evening for overnight flight to London. Arrive next day at approx. 1500.
International flights with Cubana including 1 internal flight, Baracoa to Havana + Cuban tourist card.
