Sample itinerary
Day 1 Travel day
Morning: direct flight to Holguin from London Gatwick. Private transfer on arrival to Santiago de Cuba (2 hours journey). Arrive Santiago de Cuba and check into 5* Melia Hotel Santiago, double room, half board x 3 nights
Day 2-3 Santiago de Cuba
Morning Cuban salsa dance classes x 2 hours x 2 days. Half day guided city tour with bilingual guide to visit the highlights of the city and places associated with the Revolution. Rest of day free to explore the city. e.g. Moncada Barracks where the first attack by Fidel Castro against Batista troops took place or El Morro fortress at the mouth of Santiago Bay. Or just relax by the hotel poolside and save your energy for going out to hear live traditional Cuban music at night.
Day 4 Fly Santiago to Havana
Fly to Havana on morning flight from Santiago, transfer to 3* hotel x 2 nights. Double room, B*B.
Day 5 Havana
Free day to explore Havana with optional walking tour of Old Havana (£10 pp).
Day 6-11 Cayo Levisa
Transfer by private taxi to Cayo Levisa, a beautiful island along the coast from Havana. Double room, full board x 6 nights. Very relaxing atmosphere. Snorkelling/swimming.
Day 12-13 Las Terrazas
Transfer from Cayo Levisa to Las Terrazas, a biosphere reserve just 90 minutes from Havana. Double room in the 3* Hotel Moka x 2 nights, B&B. Swimming in the river, gentle hiking along trails or just relaxing by the small pool.
Day 14
Transfer to Havana after lunch direct to international airport for overnight Cubana flight direct to London Gatwick.
International flights with Cubana including 1 internal flight, Santiago to Havana + Cuban tourist card.
