Biarritz was a highly fashionable seaside resort in the last 19th century and is still noted for its elegant architecture, prestigious casinos and palaces and its beaches. The city offers a refined and peaceful haven on the Atlantic coast, is close to the Pyrenees and the Spanish border, and is an excellent location for water sports, with particularly good waves for surfing.

Our school is located in a safe residential area, close to Biarritz town centre. It has air-conditioned classrooms, internet access and self-study facilities. Please note, during the summer months a second centre with similar facilities is used for students aged 16-19. This centre is located in heart of Anglet with easy access to the beaches and neighbouring Biarritz. Each lesson at these schools lasts 45 minutes.

Cultural activities and excursions are offered to help students take their French learning experience out of the classroom. At least 3 sporting or cultural activities per week, along with two organised social evenings out per month.

Accommodation is available in homestays. Hotels and studio apartments available on request.

Transfers: airport pick up/ drop off available on request. Please contact us for confirmation of costs.  

Public holidays: the school will close on 13 Apr, 1/8/21 May, 1 June, and 14 July. There will be no classes on these days.

A variety of French courses are available with group and private lessons. Group classes have an average of 8-10 students per class (maximum 12 during peak season). Courses of private tuition are also available - please contact us for details.

French and Surfing  

This course combines French lessons and surfing tuition with a professionally trained instructor at the "Plage des Basques" which offers high quality surfing for all levels. Lessons are limited to 8 participants and all instructors are fully qualified and are experienced in teaching non-native French speakers. Wetsuits and boards can be hired at the school.

A-Level Revision courses

The main purpose of these courses is to improve students' spoken French, grammatical weak points, essay planning and writing techniques in preparation for A-Level French examinations (or equivalent). A mixture of morning and afternoon lessons will concentrate on listening activities, oral and written comprehension and communication. Cultural activities are included each week e.g. guided tour of the town, museum visit, cinema, etc., and are supervised by a member of staff from the school.

• French lessons per week: 24 group
• Group size: 6 - 12 students of similar ability

Young at Heart course

This course is designed for mature students who want to improve their French whilst getting to know Biarritz and its region from a cultural point of view in the company of like-minded people. Participants have the opportunity to take part in six cultural activities per week plus two evenings out and a full day excursion.
