French in Rouen, France
Rouen is the historic capital of the region of Normandy, in the north west of France. The average temperature is a mild 15ºC which means that the grass grows all year round, producing picturesque countryside and ideal land for agriculture and the production of dairy products, including wonderful cheeses such as Camembert. The city and its suburbs amount to a population of over 500,000 inhabitants and is well known in the fields of art and history, for Claude Monet and Impressionism and the tale of Joan of Arc. Only one hour from Paris, Rouen is an accessible city within Normandy and offers rich history and culture to entertain all ages.
Our award winning school lies to the south of the River Seine, only 10 minutes' walk from the historic centre of Rouen, with the cathedral and medieval buildings. The school is located in a bright, modern building, with 12 classrooms, a computer room with free internet access and Wi-Fi throughout the building. There is also a library, drinks and snacks machines, table football and a pool table.
Courses are available all year round for a variety of ages and levels. Course fees include course materials, tests and certificate, as well as an orientation tour of Rouen on the first day of the course. Please click on one of the options below for more details:

Cultural activities and excursions are offered throughout the year to compliment the language learning experience and encourage students to make the most of their time in Rouen. You will receive the social programme in your welcome pack, upon arrival. Certain activities are free of charge, such as the weekly school theatre group and French film screenings. Other activities/excursions are reasonably priced to cover transport and entrance costs; these are paid for directly at the school and are accompanied by a member of school staff. For example: local cheese makers such as Camembert; Calvados and cider producers; Monet's house and gardens at Giverny; World War II landing beaches; the Bayeux tapestry; Honfleur, Mont Saint Michel and Paris.
Accommodation is available in homestays and self-catering studio apartments, all year round.
Transfers: transfers are available to/from the Roissy/Orly or Beauvais Paris airports. Please contact us for details and 2012 prices.
School Closure: 1 Jan, 7/9 Apr, 1/8/17/26/28 May, 14 Jul, 15 Aug, 1/10 Nov 2012. The school will close on these dates, however lessons will be rescheduled to take place within that same week. The school will also close on 22 Dec 2012 for the festive period and re-open on 7 Jan 2013.

Homestay
This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to be fully immersed in everyday French life. Bed linen and towels are provided and washing/ironing of clothes. Maximum travelling time to school is 35 minutes. Hosts will pick up students arriving at Rouen train station.

For students aged 18+ years who would prefer to live more independently, accommodation can be arranged in self-catering studio apartments. Breakfast is included Monday-Saturday. Apartments usually cater for 1-2 students and offer kitchenette facilities, bathroom, TV and cable internet. Bed linen and towels are included. There is also access to a coin-operated launderette and parking. Maximum travelling time to school is 15 minutes.
