German in Radolfzell, Germany

Radolfzell is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Germany, close to the Swiss border and on the edge of Lake Constance which makes it the ideal location for all kinds of sports and activities.  In town, enjoy quaint restaurants and street cafes amongst modern shops, or explore the pedestrian-only historic district with its large market square and gothic architecture.  Alternatively, for some peace and fresh air, stroll the lakeside promenade. 

Our school enjoys a tranquil setting in a 20^th century building next to the town gardens, with a view of the historic district.  This small, friendly school has 8 classrooms, a small cafeteria, a computer room with free internet access, a media resource centre and a party room in the basement.  It is a safe and fun location for younger students.

Courses are available all year round for a variety of ages and levels.  Course fees include the school starter pack, social and cultural activities, placement and weekly tests, course materials and certificate.  Please click on one of the options below for more details:

Cultural activities and excursions are offered throughout the year, varying according to the season e.g. sporting activities, school parties, weekend trips, etc. Some activities are free however any entrance fees are charged for separately.

Accommodation is available in homestays and the school residence, all year round. 

Transfers: one way transfers available to/from nearby airports: Zurich (Switzerland) £130, Friedrichshafen £130 and Stuttgart £235.  There are special fees for more than one person arriving on the same flight, available upon request. 

School Closure: 1/6 Jan, 6/9 Apr, 1/17/28 May, 7 Jun, 3 Oct, 1 Nov and 24/25/26/31 Dec 2012.  The school will be closed on these public holidays and no classes will be held.  Only private lessons will be rescheduled.

Teen Summer Course in Radolfzell, 15-17 years 

This course is specifically designed for teenagers and combines formal classroom tuition with a varied programme of supervised leisure activities, visits and excursions.  An excellent opportunity for students who need a period of immersion in German to help complete the academic year or for those who would like a short break in the sun before returning to school.  The programme includes the following: accommodation (full board Mon-Fri and half board Sat-Sun), group German tuition, the social + cultural programme incl. entrance fees and local transport.  The cost of the course depends on the type of accommodation; there are three options, listed below. 

The social and cultural programme includes activities or excursions during the afternoon from Monday to Friday, as well as some evenings, and there is a full-day excursion organised one day each weekend (usually Saturday).

German + Christmas Traditions in Radolfzell

This course runs during the period in the run up to Christmas and offers the perfect opportunity to study German and to be immersed in the magic of the German Christmas: fir trees, lights, decorations, traditional crafts and Christmas cookies!  Alongside your German lessons, you will learn how to bake traditional Christmas cookies or sing German Christmas carols, with language and themed preparation, as well as visit a traditional German Christmas market.

Homestay

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to be fully immersed in everyday German life.

School Residence

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to have more independence. The residence offers Wi-Fi and is 20 minutes on foot from the city centre and approximately 15 minutes by local bus from the school.  The ‘comfort' option includes TV and internet connection in every room.
