Portuguese is the third most widely spoken European language in the world after English and Spanish, and is an important language on all five continents.

Brazil
Salvador da Bahia is a vibrant, colourful city in Northeast Brazil full of music and dance, the undoubted capital of Afro-Brazilian culture.
Founded in 1549, it was a former capital of Brazil and to this day retains a unique cultural and racial blend.
The annual carnival is renowned for its all night street parties and parades, whilst the historic centre retains its impressive colonial architecture, baroque squares and traditional food stalls.
