Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and the oldest city in the Americas. It has just over 2m inhabitants and a rich cultural heritage. With the New World’s first university, first hospital, oldest monastery and oldest surviving fortress, Santo Domingo is a fascinating city with plenty to see and do. In addition to its beautiful colonial old town, it also hosts the annual Latin music festival and the country’s largest Carnival. There are plenty of bars and clubs for dancing, and local transport is cheap and fairly reliable.
Our school is located in a residential part of the city near the university. The classrooms and communal areas are light and airy and a small garden surrounds the school, together with terraces offering students a personal and friendly environment for private study after classes.

Course fees include a placement test, tuition as described, course materials and a course certificate.

Dance course
Dominicans love to dance! Latin-American music and Afro-Caribbean dances like Merengue, Bachata and Salsa express the positive attitude of the people towards life and their culture, their vitality and joy of movement.
As a supplement, this dance course must be taken in conjunction with a Spanish language course in Santo Domingo. Spanish lessons will take place in the morning and on 4 afternoons per week Dominican dance instructors teach steps and body movement.

Dance lessons are held at a dance academy a few minutes walking distance from the school.
Accommodation
Rooms are available in local homestays, shared apartments and aparthotels, all year round. Arrival is on a Sunday and departure on a Saturday (1 week = 6 nights, 2 weeks = 13 nights etc).
Homestay, single room, half board
Middle-class Dominican families located approx 10-40 minutes from the school. Students have a private bathroom and bed sheets and towels are provided.

Shared apartment, single room, self catering
Located just 2 minutes walking distance from school. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining room. All bedrooms have double beds, cable-TV and a fan. Free computer and wireless internet access. Fees include daily cleaning (except on Sundays and holidays).
