Sosua is a small coastal town on the north coast with a safe uncrowded beach. This area offers a wide variety of leisure activities such as diving and snorkelling, horseback riding in the countryside, river rafting and mountain biking, plus nearby Cabarete is well known for it's world class windsurfing and kite-surfing.

Our school is located in the old and more serene part of Sosua called El Batey. The school is surrounded by a lush garden, is very close to the town centre and only five minutes from the main beach. This school offers the ideal environment for concentrated learning in a tropical location.

Spanish courses

Course fees include a placement test, tuition as described, course materials and a course certificate.

• Classes held: Monday to Friday
• Minimum age: 16 years

Start dates for complete beginners: 07/21* Jan; 04/18 Feb; 03/17/31 March; 14/28 April; 12/26 May; 09/23 June; 07/21 July; 04/18 August; 01/15/29 Sept; 13/27 Oct; 10/24 Nov;08/22 Dec 2008. *course starts on Tuesday due to public holiday

All other levels may start on any Monday.

Public Holidays: the school will be closed on 01/21 Jan; 27 Feb; 21 March; 06 April; 1 May; 24 Sept; 25 Dec 2008.

Surfing course

The Dominican Republic has some of the best surfing areas in the world and this course gives students the opportunity to combine learning Spanish with windsurfing or kite surfing lessons.

As this is a supplementary course, it must be taken in conjunction with a Spanish language course which will take place at the school in Sosua.

WINDSURFING

KITE SURFING

Whilst windsurfers of all levels will find excellent conditions on Caberete Bay, kite surfers will be riding the waves only 200 metres away at Kite beach.

Diving course

Two reefs shape the bay of Sosua creating ideal diving conditions in more than 19 different dive sites, all only 5 - 20 minutes by boat from the dive school on the beach. The waters are crystal-clear and turquoise, with excellent visibility and temperatures expected throughout the year.

The dive school offers courses for both certified and uncertified divers.

As this is a supplementary course, it must be taken in conjunction with a Spanish language course which will take place at the school in Sosua.

The dive school is located right at the beach, only 5 minutes walking distance from the school.

Accommodation

Studios, apartments and aparthotels are available, all year round. Arrival is on a Sunday and departure on a Saturday (1 week = 6 nights, 2 weeks = 13 nights etc).

Studio/apartment, self catering

Located at the school with direct access to garden terrace, 5 min walking distance to beach and city centre. Accommodation in single occupancy or shared apartment with breakfast (except on Sundays and holidays). Rooms with shower/toilet, fridge, TV, fan, small seating area; apartment with fully equipped kitchen. Fees include daily cleaning (except on Sundays and holidays).

Aparthotel, single room, self catering

Located close to the city centre, 15 minutes walking distance from the school and beach. Accommodation in single occupancy, rooms with bathroom, kitchenette, air-conditioning, balcony or terrace. Additional services: spacious pool; internet access and laundry on extra charge. Gym, bar, and small shops near-by.

Accommodation includes towels and sheets.

Hotel accommodation also available. Prices available on request.

Airport transfers

If you book a Spanish course with accommodation, included in your fees is an arrival transfer from International Airport Gregorio Luperon Puerto Plata.
