Learn Spanish in Cusco, Peru
Peru is the third largest country in South America, bordered by Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile and the Pacific Ocean. Culturally and geographically, Peru is one of the most diverse countries on the continent. It was home to ancient cultures such as the Norte Chico civilisation and the famous Inca Empire and today it is characterized by 3 main landscapes: the arid plains of the Pacific coast, the peaks of the Andes and the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin. Throughout, there is an amazing range of activities and interesting places to visit, from beautiful old colonial towns to ancient Inca ruins and impressive coastal nature reserves.
Cusco is a lively city at 3,400m above sea level, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes Mountains. It has a population of approximately 360,000 and receives approximately 2 million visitors each year. It is well connected by road and air and is a very welcoming destination, with a large range of cafes, bars and restaurants, with live music in the streets, a vibrant night life and colourful markets selling local produce all year round. The Inca Empire was once governed from here and there are extensive Inca ruins within easy reach of the city, including Machu Picchu.
Our school is located in a beautiful 19th century colonial home on one of the many small plazas close to the main square, Plaza de Armas. Our school has 15 classrooms on two floors, with typical Peruvian decoration, as well as 3 video rooms, entertainment room, wireless internet access, an indoor patio and interior courtyard.

Cultural activities and excursions are offered throughout the year to encourage students to discover the city and local culture. For example: orientation tour of Cusco, cookery class, dance classes, parties, film screenings, seminars, museum visits, etc.
Accommodation is included in the course fees: single room, half board in local homestays, which is the perfect way to be immersed in everyday Peruvian culture. Shared room homestay accommodation and residence accommodation is also available upon request.
Transfers: for students arriving at Cusco Airport, we can arrange for you to be met by your homestay host, or a representative from the school, and taken to your accommodation. This service costs £20.
School Closure: 1 Jan, 21/22 Feb, 5 Apr, 1 May, 3/24/29 Jun, 29 Jul, 30 Aug, 8 Oct, 1 Nov and 8 Dec 2012. The school will be closed on these public holidays and will also close for the festive period on 17 Dec 2012, re-opening on 2 Jan 2013. No classes will be held on these dates. All classes will be rescheduled.

Active Spanish Course in Cusco
This course is aimed at those who wish to combine their Spanish lessons with some cultural practice outside of the classroom. Students can choose between group or individual Spanish tuition to combine with their ‘active learning' which includes fun, cultural activities and excursions, with their teacher or a guide. The programme varies throughout the year, but will usually include visits to museums, cathedral, markets, etc. All transport and entrance costs are included.

This course is aimed at those who want an intensive form of learning as 40 hours per week is a very full timetable for language tuition. It combines group classes and individual classes, including 5 lunches with your teacher. This course is not for the faint hearted but is a great way to improve quickly!

Discover Peru
This inclusive programme combines Spanish tuition, volunteer work and cultural trips to various areas of Peru, including Machu Picchu. Students may choose to take the train up the mountain or do a 4-day trek to reach this famous landmark. Please note that the trek requires a good level of health and fitness. Accommodation is included, in either local homestays or hotels/hostels, whilst travelling. The programme finishes in Puno, on the edge of Lake Titicaca. There are arrival and departure packages which can be added to this programme; details below.
