Learn Spanish and Flamenco in Granada, Spain
Granada is located in Andalusia (southern Spain), at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, offering skiing throughout the winter, and only 60km from the Costa Tropical on the Mediterranean sea, offering more than 320 days of sun per year! This former stronghold of Moorish Spain has a population of approximately 290,000 and is full of romance and folklore. The Alhambra palace offers an escape into the city's Moorish past and the Albaicin, declared a UNESCO cultural heritage site is the atmospheric ancient Moorish neighbourhood which is famous for its maze of narrow streets of whitewashed houses set on a hill facing the Alhambra. Granada is also home to a prestigious university with 80,000 students a year which adds to the vibrant street life of this city.
Our school is located in the Albaicin, only a few minutes' walk from the city centre. The school is housed in a traditional ‘carmen', an independent dwelling in its own walled setting, with a maze of caves, staircases, terraces and fruit trees. Spanish classes are held at the top of the school, with breathtaking views of the Alhambra. Flamenco and guitar lessons are held in the whitewashed caves, decorated with traditional ceramic plates, for foreign students and locals alike. There is also a library, a common room, computer room with Wi-Fi, video room, DVD collection (Spanish cinema and Flamenco), and a small collection of Flamenco dress and footwear on sale.
Courses are available all year round for a variety of ages and levels. Course fees include a placement test, course materials and certificate. Please click on one of the options below for more details:
