Learn Spanish in Malaga, Spain

Malaga is a popular destination for studying Spanish in Spain, located on the Andalusian coast in the south of the country, it benefits from the famous Mediterranean climate, offering long summers and warm winter months.  Malaga is the largest of the Andalusian cities with a population of over 500,000 and it is also one of the oldest cities in the world with almost 3000 years of history.  Malaga is proud of its cultural heritage and certainly offers much more than just its wonderful beaches: birth place of Pablo Picasso and Antonio Banderas, it is a modern city with a beautiful historic centre of winding streets boasting tapas bars, lively festivals and an active night life. 

Our school has its own mini campus with everything on site, including en-suite accommodation, a swimming pool, 3 sunny terraces, a restaurant and lively bar.  The school has 25 modern classrooms, a multimedia learning centre, computer and Wi-Fi access, a function room, dance studio, mini gym, practice kitchen, area for film screenings and new student lounge, open 24hrs, with TV-DVD facilities and drinks/snacks machines. 

Courses are available all year round for a variety of ages and levels.  Our school produces their own text books and other teaching materials which are included in the course fees, along with a course certificate and the cultural and social programme.  Please click on one of the options below for more details:

Cultural activities and excursions are offered throughout the year to encourage students to discover the city and local culture.  For example: welcome aperitif, Spanish cookery classes, dance classes, museum visits, city tours and Spanish film screenings.  Most activities are included in the fees, however some excursions are offered at a small charge payable at the school.

Accommodation is available in the school residence on the mini campus (with pool), in homestays and shared apartments, all year round. 

Transfers: one way transfer is available to/from Malaga International Airport £55 or return transfer £95.

School Closure: 28 Feb, 5/6 Apr, 1 May, 15/20 Aug, 12 Oct, 1 Nov and 6 Dec 2012.  The school will be closed on these public holidays and no classes will be held.  Only individual lessons will be rescheduled.  If a public holiday falls on a course start date, new students will take their placement test on this day and have their orientation tour of Malaga and lessons will begin the following day.  The school will also be closed until 8 January 2012 and will close from 15 Dec 2012 for the festive period and re-open on 7 Jan 2013.

One-to-one tuition is ideal for those who would like intensive learning or those who wish to focus on specific topics as lesson content can be tailored to each individual's needs.

Spanish Teacher Refresher Course in Malaga

This course is designed for teachers with an advanced level who wish to refresh their skills in Spanish, methodology, pronunciation and classroom strategy.  It provides materials and ideas for direct use in the classroom and also the opportunity to exchange teaching tips.

2012 Start dates: 16 July (1 or 2 weeks) or 23 July (1 week)

Teen summer Course in Malaga, 16-20 years

Designed for older teenagers, this programme offers an exciting opportunity to combine a language course with a fun holiday.  The materials and activities have been adapted to take into account the interests of this age group and the timetable is particularly suited to those who want to combine their studies with a good social life.  Spanish lessons take place in the afternoon and activities take place in the morning, including sports (beach football/volleyball, swimming, table-tennis, etc.), an introduction to salsa and/or flamenco, tours of the historic centre, films, parties, and boat trips.  There is also a full-day excursion at the weekend, every fortnight.

Young at Heart in Malaga

This course is designed for mature learners aged 50+, combining Spanish language tuition for everyday use with visits to places of local interest as well as daily social and cultural activities during the week and a full day excursion at the weekend.  The mini campus is a very comfortable environment for this programme.

Spanish + Cookery in Malaga

If you love Spanish food, this is the course for you!  This course combines Spanish tuition with cookery demonstrations (students will learn how to prepare a 3-course menu and enjoy eating the food afterwards), visits to a local place of gastronomic interest, talks on local food/wine, cultural activities and a wonderful farewell meal with wine at the end of the second week.

Spanish + Dance in Malaga

This course combines morning Spanish with dance classes in Salsa or Flamenco. All dance classes are taught in our school's own air-conditioned dance studio and the teachers are professional dance tutors.  The Salsa option covers both salsa and other Latin American dances.  The Flamenco option offers an introduction to the world of Flamenco, through Sevillanas, Rumbas and other typical Flamenco dance styles.

Accommodation in Malaga

All accommodation options run from Sunday to Saturday morning (1 week = 6 nights). 

Please note that a high season supplement of £7.50 per night is applicable to all accommodation options from 10 June to 15 September 2012 (inclusive).

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to be fully immersed in everyday Spanish life.  Bed linen included; please bring your own towels.

This accommodation is conveniently located in the same building as the school and offers full independence as well as a friendly atmosphere.  There are standard single, twin and triple rooms, as well as executive rooms and studios; all rooms are en-suite and offer Wi-Fi.  There is a 24 hour reception and students have access to study areas and computers, the student lounge as well as the sun terraces and pool.  There are no cooking facilities however there is a cafe/restaurant/terrace bar open all year round and meal packages can be paid for in advance (see below).  Bed linen and towels included; please bring your own beach towels.

Breakfast is continental and lunch and dinner are based on a fixed menu of starter, main course, dessert and drink.  Half board includes breakfast every day and 12 other meals every 2 weeks: lunch or dinner (Monday-Friday) and dinner on Sundays.  Full board includes breakfast every day and 22 other meals every 2 weeks: lunch and dinner (Monday-Friday) and dinner on Sundays.

Shared Apartment     

This type of accommodation is ideal for younger students (aged 18-25) who wish to have more independence and stay longer than 2 weeks.  Apartments are for 2-6 students and offer shared kitchen, bathroom and living room facilities, TV and washing machine.  Bed linen is included; please bring your own towels.  Type A apartments are of a slightly higher standard and are located approximately 10 minutes on foot from the school.  Type B apartments are located within 30 minutes on foot or by public transport from the school.  Please note: extra nights are not possible.
