Learn Spanish in Mendoza, Argentina

High in the foothills of the Andes in the west of Argentina, Mendoza is famous as the capital of the largest wine producing area in Latin America, as well as the gateway to Mount Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere.  Located on the main route between Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile, it is an ideal base for adventure activities such as hiking, horseback riding, skiing and rafting.  Mendoza is very much a cultural city, boasting many museums, art galleries and festivals, of which the most important is La Vendimia in March, celebrating the grape harvest.

Our school enjoys a central location in a sophisticated neighbourhood, only two blocks from the pretty Parque San Martin with its lake and the Mendoza Zoo.  There are also plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, on the famous Avenida Aristides Villanueva.  The school itself is situated in a beautiful building, with 5 classrooms, a large patio with a BBQ area, 2 terraces and free internet and Wi-Fi.  The school also provides free refreshments during class breaks.

Cultural activities and excursions are offered on a weekly basis, to help students discover the city and the local culture, including a welcome lunch on the first day followed by a city tour and on the last day, a farewell lunch or BBQ.  Other activities/excursions during the week include: city tours, cooking lessons, visits to wineries, museums, parks and bars.  There is also the option of salsa classes and conversation club - extra opportunities to improve your Spanish! 

Accommodation is available in homestays and shared apartments, all year round. 

Transfers: one way transfers are available to/from Mendoza airport or bus terminal £18.

School Closure: 1 Jan, 20*/21 Feb, 24 Mar, 2/5*/6/24* Apr, 1/25 May, 20 Jun, 9/25* Jul, 20 Aug, 8 Oct, 26* Nov and 8/24*/25 Dec 2012.  The school will be closed on these public holidays and no classes or activities will be held.  Only private lessons will be rescheduled.

*On these dates, a conversation workshop will be set up in place of classes.

General Spanish Course in Mendoza

These courses are designed for those who wish to learn communicative Spanish skills, ideal for use in everyday life, and consist of grammar instruction and conversation class.  For those with specific language needs, they may wish to choose the combination option.  Discounted rates for long term courses are available for 5+ weeks; please contact us for more details.  Course fees include two placement tests (grammar test online before arrival + speaking test on first day at school), course materials and certificate.

Individual Spanish Course in Mendoza

One-to-one tuition is ideal for those who would like intensive learning or those who wish to focus on specific topics as lesson content can be tailored to an individual's needs.

Accommodation in Mendoza

Rooms are available in local homestays and shared apartments, all year round.  Accommodation is maximum 30 minutes from the school and runs from Sunday to  Saturday (1 week = 6 nights).  Bed linen and towels are included. 

Homestay

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to be fully immersed in everyday Argentinian life.  Shared bathroom.

Shared Apartment     

This self-catering accommodation option is ideal for those who wish to have more independence, living with a local host and possibly other students from the school.  Shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.
