Learn Spanish in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic 

Stretching across two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola is the vibrant nation of the Dominican Republic, a tropical paradise in the Caribbean.  The rich cultural heritage, beautiful colonial architecture, spectacular scenery and friendly locals make this a wonderful place to learn Spanish. 

Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and the largest city, with a population of over 3 million, as well as the oldest European settlement in the Americas.  It is a lively metropolis offering plenty to see and do as well as a vibrant nightlife.  Home to the annual Latin music festival and with plenty bars and clubs for dancing, this is a great destination to combine language study with dance.

Our school is located in a residential area of the city near the university, with internet cafes, a library and small restaurants all nearby.  The classrooms and communal areas are light and airy and a small garden surrounds the school, together with terraces and a cafeteria offering students a personal and friendly environment for private study after classes.  This is also a great place to socialise with Dominican students who learn German in the same building.

Courses are available all year round for a variety of ages and levels.  Course fees include a placement test, course materials and certificate, refreshments during morning break and city orientation tour.  Please click on one of the options below for more details:

Cultural activities and excursions are offered throughout the year and are also offered to the Dominican students studying in the same building.  For example: BBQs in school garden, dinners out, night outs, cultural events, concerts, museums, guided city tours and beach excursions.  There are further activities available (cost depending on number of participants), such as horse riding, scuba diving, snorkelling, river rafting, golf, tennis, mountain biking and hiking.

Accommodation is available in homestays, shared apartments, an apart-hotel or hotel, all year round.

School Closure: 1/21 Jan, 27 Feb, 6 Apr, 1 May, 24 Sep and 25 Dec 2012.  The school will be closed on these public holidays and no classes will be held.  Only private lessons will be rescheduled.

Spanish + Latin Dance in Santo Domingo

Dominicans love to dance!  The positive attitude of the people is reflected in Afro-Caribbean dances such as Merengue, Bachata and Salsa.  This course is for those who wish to discover this vibrant culture and joy of movement, through their language, music and dance.  Group Spanish tuition is combined with group or individual dance classes with Dominican dance instructors at a local dance academy, just a few minutes' walk from the language school.
