Spanish in Seville, Spain

The capital of Andalucia is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and certainly one which keeps alive the spirit of its traditions. Flamenco, sevillanas, bull-fighting, Semana Santa and the lively atmosphere in the streets and along the riverside all make the city a special place to be all year round. The unique Feria de Abril which takes place every April is the most colourful and traditional festival in the city.

Our school is located in the heart of Seville, within walking distance of all major places of interest in the centre. The main school building is a prime example of traditional Andalucian architecture, with a central patio and large, sunny terraces. It has 25 modern classrooms, a library, study room, a bookshop specialising in language materials, internet access,  WIFI areas and air-conditioning throughout.

Minimum age is 17 years (except for Teen Summer Course)

Courses are offered all year round for a variety or ages and levels:

• General, Intensive and Combination Spanish courses
• Spanish and Flamenco course
• Young at Heart course (50+)
• Teen Summer Course, 14 - 17 years
• Spanish and Work Experience

Cultural activities and excursions are offered to help students discover the city and local culture (4 afternoon activities per week and 3 full day excursions per month) e.g. Spanish cookery or dance classes, museum visits, city tours, day trip to Cordoba or Cadiz. Many of these activities are free or have a small charge payable at the school when you book the trip.

Accommodation is available in homestays, shared flats with Spaniards and in the school residence, all year round. Hotels and studio apartments available on request.

Transfers: airport pick up/ drop off costs £50 each way

Public holidays: The school will close on 1/6 Jan, 28 Feb, 1 Mar, 1/2 Apr, 1 May, 3 Jun, 16 Aug, 12 Oct, 1 Nov, 6/8 Dec 2010 and no classes will be held on these days.

General, Intensive and Combination Spanish courses

A variety of Spanish courses are available with group and private lessons. Group classes have an average of 6-10 students per class.

* course includes 4 cultural seminars per week e.g. Literature, History of Art, Cookery, Dance, Spanish cinema, Spanish politics or Phonetics and Intonation 

Start dates for complete beginners: 4/18 Jan, 1/15 Feb, 15/29 Mar, 5/19 Apr, 3/17/31 May, 14/28 Jun, 5/19 Jul, 2/30 Aug, 13/27 Sep, 4/18 Oct, 15/29 Nov, 7/13 Dec 2010.

All other levels can start a course on any Monday

Spanish and Flamenco course

This course offers the opportunity to combine learning Spanish with one of the most popular dances in Andalucia. The Flamenco school where the classes are held is situated in the centre of Seville and classes are taught by world famous Flamenco dancers.

£600 (excl. accommodation)

• Course duration: 2 weeks
• Spanish lessons per week: 20 group
• Flamenco lessons per week: 4 x 1.5 hour sessions*
• Group size: 6-10 students
• Minimum level: Beginner

*Subject to minimum of 3 students. If only 1 or 2 students are enrolled, students will receive a reduced number of semi private classes.

Young at Heart

This course is designed for mature students aged 50+ years and includes: arrival airport transfer; Spanish tuition; social and cultural activities on 4 afternoons or evenings per week; one theatre evening; one group dinner with a teacher; and a full day excursion on the middle Saturday.  

£640 (excl. accommodation) 

• Course duration: 2 weeks
• Spanish lessons per week: 20 group
• Group size: 5-8 students
• Minimum level: Elementary

Teen Summer Course, 14- 17 years

This course is the ideal way to combine holiday fun with a valuable language learning experience. Spanish lessons take place in the mornings and afternoons, evenings and weekends are packed with activities, all supervised and accompanied by the school's own teachers and monitors. Activities include workshops on Spanish customs and traditions, sports, swimming pool and beach activities, full day trips to nearby cities, museum visits, dance classes... and much more!

2 weeks: £1,120 including accommodation and return airport transfers

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who want to be fully immersed in everyday Spanish life. Weekly laundry and cleaning included.

Shared flat with Spaniards

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to have more independence but to still have the opportunity to practice Spanish at home. No meals are included but students have access to kitchen facilities.

School Residence

This type of accommodation provides full independence and a friendly atmosphere living with other students. The residence has cooking facilities and a large communal living room.
