Learn Spanish in Seville, Spain

Seville is the capital of Andalusia, the most southern province of Spain, with a population of approximately 700,000.  It is one of the most beautiful, traditional cities of Spain, famous for Flamenco, Sevillanas, bull fighting and its ‘Semana Santa' Easter celebrations.  The lively street atmosphere coupled with the open and friendly nature of the locals and successful contrast of modern and traditional makes this city appealing to all tastes and ages throughout the year.

Our school is located in the heart of Seville, within walking distance of all major places of interest in the centre.  The main school building is a prime example of traditional Andalusian architecture, with a central patio, sunny rooftop terrace and a small pool.  It has 30 fully equipped classrooms with air conditioning, a library, multimedia room, specialised language bookshop and free internet and Wi-Fi access.

Courses are available all year round for a variety of ages and levels.  Course fees include a placement test, orientation tour, welcome drink, course materials and certificate.  Please click on one of the options below for more details:

Cultural activities and excursions are offered on a daily basis to encourage students to discover the city and experience the local culture.  For example: orientation tour of the city, film night, museum visit, football match, dance class and day trip to nearby city of Cadiz.  Many activities are free or have a small charge payable at the school when you book the trip.

Accommodation is available in homestays, shared apartments and the school residence all year round.  Private apartments are also available upon request.

Transfers: one way transfer available to/from Seville Airport £55.

School Closure: 6 Jan, 28 Feb, 5/6 Apr, 1/30 May, 7 Jun, 15 Aug, 12 Oct, 1 Nov and 6/8 Dec 2012.  The school will be closed on these public holidays and no classes will be held.  Only private lessons will be rescheduled. The school will also close on 21 Dec 2012 for the festive period and re-open on 7 Jan 2013.

One-to-one tuition is ideal for those who would like intensive learning or those who wish to focus on specific topics as lesson content can be tailored to an individual's needs.

Young at Heart Course in Seville

This 2 week course is designed for mature students aged 40+ years.  Language learning focuses on communication and the use of practical, everyday Spanish.  This is combined with an extensive programme of cultural activities and social events, focusing on various topics on different dates throughout the year (see below).

The cultural and social programme includes 4 afternoons or evenings per week (one theatre evening, one meal with the teacher, cultural visits and excursions) and one full day excursion.

Spanish + Flamenco and Sevillanas in Seville

This course offers the opportunity to combine learning Spanish and two of the most popular dances in Andalusia: Flamenco and Sevillanas.  Flamenco is a form of dance which emerged from the gypsies and is an integral part of the Andalusian culture.  Sevillanas is a similar style of dance and takes its name from Seville, although it did not originate there.  It is an old folk dance enjoyed by all ages during celebrations, which makes it a useful dance to learn in order to be able to join in at fiestas.  Dance classes are taken at a professional dance academy, instructed through Spanish, and consist of both theory and practical sessions focusing on developing fundamental techniques through integrating footwork patterns, movement of hands and arms, body attitude, turns, etc.

Please note: the dance course is subject to a minimum of 3 students.  If this minimum is not met, students will receive 5 semi-private dance lessons per week in place of the 6 group classes.

All accommodation options run from Sunday to Saturday (1 week = 6 nights).

Homestay

This type of accommodation is perfect for those who wish to be fully immersed in everyday Spanish life.  Bed linen and towels provided and includes one laundry load per week, room cleaning and change of bed linen once a week.  Half board = breakfast and lunch.

Shared Apartment with Spaniards

This self-catering accommodation is ideal for those who wish to have more independence but still practise their Spanish out of the classroom.  Shared living room, kitchen and bathroom.  Bed linen and towels are provided.

School Residence

This self-catering accommodation offers full independence and a friendly atmosphere living with other students.  Each residence houses 6-15 students, with shared kitchen facilities and a large communal living room.  Bed linen is included but students are required to bring their own towels.  Room cleaning and bed linen changed once per week.
